Easter Thoughts

I was just thinking the other day about how special Easter is for a Christian.  I made a few decorations for our Easter get-together and realized that so much thought and decoration is put into Christmas, but not Easter.  At Christmas, we celebrate the birth of Christ, which without there would be no Easter, however, if there was a Christmas, but no Easter, we would still be lost in our sins.  If Christ did not die on the cross for us at Easter time and, most importantly, if he did not risen again on the third day then “our hope is in vain”.

I love those Easter songs that really get you thinking.  I was playing the song recently “Beyond the Cross” and the words really were encouraging.  I will post them below in hopes they will be a blessing to someone.

Beyond the Cross

Needing strength for my journey, I knelt at the cross
Where Jesus once died for me
And I asked, “Is this the place where hope abides?”
And this He said to me:

“Beyond the Cross is a tomb that is empty
You won’t find Me there anymore
And beyond the tomb is life ever-lasting
And hope forever more.”

Then I sought reassurance and I went to the tomb
To the place where His body once laid
And I cried, “Lord, help me see. Is there hope here for me?”
And this I heard Him say:

“Beyond the Cross is a tomb that is empty
You won’t find Me there anymore
And beyond the tomb is life ever-lasting
And hope forever more.”

“Beyond the Cross is a tomb that is empty
You won’t find Me there anymore
And beyond the tomb is life ever-lasting
And hope forever more.”
Evermore.

Breaking free…

I am not really much of a blogger.  I find I am too critical of what I write and end up deleting it.  However, I am going to try to change.  This is my new blog…my new leaf…my new start.  I am going to use this to express my views, desires and dreams…and if no one reads it, oh well, it will have been worth it for me to allow myself the freedom to not care what others think – to just write what I am feeling.
